Blair History from the files of Lucy Steele, Loudon Tennessee
SAMUEL BLAIR
Samuel Blair, sixth child of John Blair and his 1st wife Jean Gamble, was born Sept. 5, 1785, in Washington County, N.C.(now Tennessee) and was married in Roane County Tennessee (now Loudon) Aug. 18, 1803, to Ann Rogers, who was born, Apr. 12, 1784.  The record of their marriage is in Marriage Bond Book 1801-1826 page 13, Roane County Courthouse Kingston, Tenn. An entry in one of the old Blair family bibles(now in my possession) says "Samuel and Ann Blair started to Ark. Oct. 9, 1849".  I assume that they went there on a visit, since in 1849 they had been married 46 years and it is not likely that they would be establishing a new home.  Further proof lies in the fact that they are both buried in Steekee Cemetery at Loudon, Tn.  It is said that Samuel was blind in his last days.  He died Oct. 10, 1854 and Ann died June 1, 1843.
